“Nurturing Vocation: A Two-Day Spiritual Enrichment for Junior Sisters”
Juniors’ animation program was held at the Provincial House on February 1st and 2nd, with 15 juniors
participating in the meeting. The two-day gathering provided spiritual enrichment and valuable insights
into religious life, guided by various speakers and sessions.
The meeting commenced with an opening talk by Mother Provincial, Sr. Lucy Rose Orughzyail, who
emphasized the significance of a presence that listens and walks together. She reminded the juniors of the
importance of mutual support in their spiritual journey. Sr. Teresa then led the group into prayer through
Lectio Divina, a reflective meditation on Psalm 139. This reflective session helped the juniors deepen their
awareness of God’s presence in their lives.
The recollection talk was given by Fr. Kuria Kose from Vishwadeep, who spoke powerfully about the
essence of religious life. His talk focused on three key elements: prayer, poverty, and patience, which form
the foundation of a fulfilling and committed religious life. The day continued with a time for confession,
followed by the celebration of the Eucharist, Fr. Kuria Kose as the celebrant. The day concluded with a
heartfelt Good Night thought from Sr. Celine Jacob, encouraging all to remain rooted in faith and prayer.
The second day of the gathering began with Sr. Celine Jacob, our General Councilor, who shared an
insightful session on the importance of the evangelical counsels — chastity, poverty, and obedience. Sr.
Celine Jacob highlighted how these counsels are essential in living a faithful religious life and staying
aligned with one’s spiritual vocation.Sr.Hunbi then took over the session, speaking on the theme of
friendship, interpersonal relationships, and attachment to Christ. Her talk was particularly focused on the
deeper connection to Christ that helps strengthen our bonds with others.
The final session of the day was led by Sr. Teresa, who addressed the importance of maintaining personal
and emotional boundaries in religious life. She emphasized how these boundaries help preserve a healthy
spiritual and emotional well-being, ensuring that each sister can live in peace and harmony within the
community.
As the day came to a close, the juniors expressed their gratitude to Mother Provincial for her constant care
and involvement in the formation of the juniors. A special thank you was extended to Sr. Teresa, whose
initiative and dedication in animating the sessions were truly appreciated. The day ended on a beautiful
note, with the juniors singing a heartfelt thank-you song whose melodious voice filled the room with joy.
The two-day Junior Sisters’ Meet in Bangalore Province was an enriching experience, deepening the
juniors’ understanding of religious life and strengthening their commitment to prayer, community, and
service. The sessions were well-received, and the juniors left feeling spiritually nourished and inspired to
continue walking the path of their vocation with renewed zeal.
