About the Congregation
St. John Bosco founded the Society of St. Francis de Sales in 1859. Persuaded by our Blessed Mother Mary, who asked that he also care for poor and abandoned girls, he founded the Congregation of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians together with Co-foundress Mary Domenica Mazzarello. Their schools continue that mission today across South India.
